moving through publishing's liminal space
a move to Substack, signed copies of The Second Son, & a Third Daughter sighting on TV!
sometimes it feels like I’ve been standing still for months, but when it comes to putting together a newsletter, I realize I do, in fact, have news.
New newsletter host (& a new Adrienne Tooley newsletter)
signed & personalized copies of The Second Son are available from Books of Wonder
The Third Daughter is a Read with Jenna Jr. Summer Pick!
Welcome to Substack!
That’s right, I’ve outgrown Mailchimp (thanks to you all!) which means I’m officially making the move to Substack. I’ve been getting accustomed to this platform via my pop culture writing project Public Consumption and find it to be superior all around.
—quick plug for Public Consumption: a weekly newsletter sent on Mondays where I review my week in the media I consumed. expect book, film, tv show, music, and podcast reviews with a sprinkling of introspection, TikTok trends, and what I call the. chaos matrix (I rate the media on an X axis of chaotic good to chaotic evil and a Y axis of love to loathe). If you’re interested, you can subscribe here!—
The Second Son: Signed & Personalized!
The Second Son, sequel to The Third Daughter and the conclusion of the Betrayal Prophecies duology hits shelves in less than two months on July 16, 2024.
I’ve partnered with Books of Wonder, a local independent children’s bookstore, to offer signed copies of The Second Son. All orders can be personalized and will come with this stunning character art of Elodie, Sabine, and Tal by artist Audrey Estok (below). They’ll also offer signed hardcovers of The Third Daughter if you’re looking to make a collection!
Read with Jenna Jr!
I’m over the moon to share that The Third Daughter was chosen for the 2024 Read with Jenna Jr. summer reading list! It finds itself on a list next to many authors I admire, including a few other 2021 debuts (Elyse Bryant and Megan Freeman) and two agent siblings (Tess Sharpe and Talia Tucker).
When I was a child and dreamed of being on TV one day, this isn’t exactly what I meant, but in retrospect, I think it’s a whole lot cooler to have my book featured, rather than my face. I’m excited for The Third Daughter to find a whole new audience, especially in libraries!
That’s all…for now!
Now that The Second Son is almost out in the world, I’m back to drafting. My new project is one I’ve been wanting to write for years and I finally feel like I have the skill, experience, and brainpower to do so. I can’t wait to tell you more. When that will be, I don’t know, but rest assured you haven’t seen the last of me.
Until then, happy reading.
x
Adrienne
